A commercial photographer specializing in food photography was trying to figure out what to do with the internet. He had hired a firm to design a web site for him and the site looked fantastic. The best photos in his portfolio would now scroll pass any new visitor to the site. The visitors could contact him and request additional information or even speak with him directly to discuss their latest projects. There as just one problem...there were no visitors. After 9 months there were none at all.
We contacted him when he found his site ranking past 200 on Google for the prime keyword "Commercial Photographer". After a short phone conversation we realized that we were a great fit for the type of service he offered and agreed to let us go to work. We selected 4 keywords that fit his site well and would produce solid traffic to the site. The only change we asked him to make was to the meta tag title on the home page and one additional page. The rest happened rather quickly.
He received his first set of rankings and was surprised to find that he was in fact ranked for 2 of the 4 keywords we agreed to help him with. The first month saw 3 keywords ranked and 2 of the 3 were in the top 50 on Google. Month 2 saw one of the words jump to number 3 on MSN and in our monthly phone call we reminded him that MSN/Live is typically a leading indicator of what Google will do as a result of the service and the Google just takes a little longer to get there.
As the service entered month 3 and he received his ranking report every 2 weeks he noticed that a word had reached into the top 10 and he was on the first page for the main keyword on Google. He saw an instant spike in traffic and for the first time began to receive inquiries via the telephone and through the web site about his services.
At month 4 he reached the top 3 on Google for his primary term, a secondary term reached the top ten and each of the other terms were in the top 20. He glowed about terrific results for just 4 months of work. The site was now producing solid leads and the business had received clients that had found him strictly through the internet. His return has been more than 30x his initial investment in the project and has allowed his web site to become an integral part of his business. Like most websites, after the site achieved high rankings for a few keywords, many additional keywords were indexed and achieved rankings that generated traffic.
Out of respect for the client we have not provided their web site address. If you wish to know it please contact us at info@searchengineranking.net and we will send it directly to you. This case study is typical, not extraordinary - let us do the same for you.
